Maison Mère - Saint Martin

So so so good. We are foodies and this place exceeded our expectations. In line with the island fine dining prices, the food is high quality and really well prepared. The menu is varied and great daily specials. Very nice ambiance with great taste in boho decoration. Very nice and professional service and dog friendly!

Madison Mere was good but not excellent. Their dessert was the best part of the meal. Everything was subpar compared to the restaurants next door.

At 150 euro per person NYE menu, one would expect impeccable service and amazing food, none of which we received. The kids menu was 50 euros and also not very good. The main course in particular consisted of a piece of steak part of which was dry and part cooked medium well. I had asked for medium. 2 slivers of overcooked carrot, a small piece of cauliflower, a couple of small pieces of polenta. The plate was not balanced at all, and the meat was not cooked well and did not taste very good. The dessert was also nothing special. Two different desserts were brought, without asking our preference. A molten Chocolate cake with a small scoop of icecream and another small log, cheesecake I think. I would have chosen two chocolate cakes, had I been asked. The kids menu did not include a dessert. The service was subpar. Our server only stopped by our table to bring the next course and clear the table. He did not check in on us. He was also borderline rude each time we asked a question. We paid 50 euros a plate for a kids menu that included an appetizer and a small steak with mashed potatoes. We had ordered mash potatoes and vegetables. The kid size steak was dry too. The restaurant called and texted earlier in the day insisting on us making a 50 euro deposit to hold our table, saying they were very busy. When we arrived, there were several empty tables. Overall, a pricey yet disappointing experience. We should have just walked in to one of the busy restaurants and patios in the same plaza. Prices seemed more reasonable and the food looked better. Unfortunately, we were too tired after a very long flight and decided to eat our new year’s dinner here.

Delightful dinner at Maison Mere. Service was excellent. Food well prepared and presented. Menu choices were quite diverse. I would definitely return.

Both the food and service were outstanding! I would highly recommend the triggerfish with tagliatelle entree.
