I also love that they print their menus on swwd paper, what a great idea. Everything we had was good and the service was awesome. We'll be back when we visit here again.
I love Buzz Mill. Service is pretty quick. The baristas are usually in a good mood and their 'shrimp ' tacos are super delicious. They also host the Central Texas Farmer 's Co-Op which supports local farmers. They have a ton of events for the community as well. I just also wish they served meat products, but understand why they don 't.
Edited to add: I went again to try their winter menu. Everything was so delicious. We loved their vegan mac n cheese. It was so creamy just like the real deal. We also had the plow burger. It was dry at first and then we added some habanero sayce and ketchup. It tasted so good. The best part they had vegan sweets from zucchini kill bakery! The s'mores cupcake was so good! The service was great, unlike the previous time. Overall, it was a great experience and would definitely visit often! I had always wanted to try this place due to the recommendations and finally did. Went in for early dinner and ordered their vegan breakfast tacos. DH ordered a tempeh sandwich and we also got some nachos and vegan Queso. Let me mention the positives first. The queso was delicious and had the right amount of spice. The burger tasted good too but the fries were too greasy and soggy. Contrary to what i heard, The breakfast tacos were too greasy and dry. I was able to figure out that the filling had been made well before and was sauteed again with more oil It could be my bad choice ordering breakfast for dinner)They were neither crispy nor soft. The staff was not friendly which was not a surprise because I was warned before. I dropped some fillings on a napkin just to see how greasy it was. PS: Excuse the poor pictures. I went in too hungry that I did not plan on taking any pictures before hogging. :D
Today, I decided to tryout the plant-based Tex-Mex burger with a Tequila Mocking Bird and I gotta say, the burger was phenomenal! This is easily one of my favorite places to go to in San Marcos. The atmosphere feels nice and relaxing so there’s nothing more you could ask for. The Buzz Mill also holds events in which you could listen to local artists, see a comedy, etc. This is a must-go place if you’re in San Marcos!
The staff here are always ready to fix any problem that arises. They don 't have internet currently, but that is because Spectrum is waiting for the City to respond to them. In no shape or form is Buzz Mill at fault for the internet. I 've read a few reviews that we 're not so good and they all have one common thing. 'I didn 't want to bother the staff '. All of the staff are paid to deal with any problem. Simple as that. This isn 't a restaurant nor should you ever think that, it 's a bar/cafe that is open 24 hrs 365 days a year. They just so happen to have a kitchen. Not only do they offer food just cause, but most of the food is sourced locally. But that is only the surface of Buzz Mill. They also off the Lumber Society. They work with the local Farmers. They have a new program called Buzz Mill Forestry Foundation. They clean the local Rivers. They do so much good for the community that just coming in for coffee is all they ask. Everything they do is free for the public. If you want to learn more about the people and the programs they have then check their site out. And please, bother the staff with your questions, they have so much knowledge about what goes on but if they are busy or don 't know the right answer they know someone who can connect you with the best answer.
