I am sure there are halibut and chips at pretty much every restaurant in Seward, but the perfect breading and the delicious dipping sauce set this one apart. Not only that, but the service was great, the staff were so welcoming and just lovely.
Food overall was good. Kids enjoyed their meals. Of course anything seafood is . Only 3 stars because it took almost an hour and half to get our food. Other tables (we were a party of 4) that had 2 per table were seated after us and served their food way before our table. They were busy but the next day we went to the Highliner Restaurant and were served from entering and sitting down in 20’minutes flat! They were just as busy but their kitchen was much more efficient. Just my two cents!
We tried this spot when walking downtown primarily because we did not need reservations and the Mexican rest across the street had no seating .Hubby had the reindeer meatloaf and I had the halibut and salmon combo. We both loved our dishes and beer. Was one of our favorite Alaskan food experiences.
Staff was friendly but needed more of them. Slow service and overpriced food. Basic cuisine. Reindeer sausage soup listed mushrooms and spinach but was not in it.
Located on the main strip it is one of the first restaurants open for lunch. Food was surprisingly good, looks like it’s family run and the kids are cooking and serving so we didn’t know what to expect but all of our dishes were well liked.
