Cold in the middle like it was left over from yesterday ,broiled for a few then all of it was sold to me for $20. Drove 8 minutes with it and literally put it in the microwave right now. No thanks.
A Taste of Miami serves okay food that I find to be overpriced. So far, I've been there three times. I first tried their Lobster and Shrimp Mac and Cheese. It had quite a few good sized shrimp in it, but I don't recall tasting any lobster. That and two crab cakes was $28. The second time I went, I ordered their Lemon Pepper chicken wings for myself and a basket of two catfish nuggets and shrimp for my wife. They don't fry their chicken. It's all smoked. I didn't taste any lemon pepper whatsoever, and wasn't impressed. My wife's catfish nuggets were supposed to come with curly fries, but they were out of those. She didn't finish the catfish or the waffle fries. She then announced that she would not be eating there again. The last time I ate there, I ordered ten shrimp and two crab cakes with potato salad. The crab was 100% real crab meat, enjoyed that. The shrimp were good, but small. The potato salad was okay. They sell a drink called Paula's punch that has real pieces of fruit in it. A 16 oz. bottle is $5. It was delicious, but too small for the price. I guess if I tried it three times, you should try it at least once.
Not bad but not good. Had a taste for some conch and tried a few other items on the menu. Shrimp mac n cheese, spice wings, and conch salad. I expected a lot more and better flavor from the wings. The mac n cheese was decent but definitely for worth $13 for the amount they give you. It should've been amazing at that price and portion. The conch salad was actually pretty good, but bitter. Contained more vegetables then anything. If you have a taste for some really good conch, try The Conch Shell here in Ajax. Nothing on the menu ever disappoints.
I love this place. It's my go to for vegan options when I'm in the area. Everything is so flavorful. My favorites are the vegan egg foo young, vegan sausage and vegan burger. They are all soooo delicious. And the homemade sweet tea is good too. Definitely worth trying.
I tried this place for the first time yesterday and the food was so go good!!! I really liked the flavor of the batter that my conch and mushrooms were fried. The Mac and cheese had great flavor and consistency. The cashier was super nice. I'm already excited to go back!!
