The Harbour Terrace - SORRENTO

Disgusting eating here. all made of garlic bread, net and drinks. personal

Had been occupied last Sunday night (around our first visit here. We went up the stairs to find a cave-like place, a bit like a rsl with the pokies. / there are seats for any person, but there were only four or five groups (over person) eating. also the pork ribs specially br>/ when it arrived, it was obvious that this meant: if pre-cooked and in its packing (always also the shopping bag) / it was a standard saddle of ribs, on some chips with lack of Koleslaw.

When we arrived at 5.40 pm there was one person behind the bar and an oyster shucker. We waited about 10 mins to get to the barman because he was serving drinks to people who were in front of us. We not only wanted to order drinks - but as a table had been booked we wanted to sit down! Eventually it happened. The majority of guests were happy with their food, but for the two of us who ordered the pork belly....that's when things came unstuck! Our meals arrived as the others at our table had either finished or almost finished their meals. And it was awful. It was chewy and rubbery and the crackling was non existent. It was tough, sloppy skin - inedible! The portion size was smaller than usual and it was served on mash with a sprinkling of whole green beans. Very disappointing - it was the worst pork belly ever. The lemonade that was ordered for the children was water - the postmix had run out! The freshly shucked oysters were small but fresh, excellent value and saved the day. Also, to be fair too - they didn't charge 'cakeage' whilst supplying the crockery and cutlery. I'll give it one more try but there will need to be a massive improvement to convince me to keep returning.

Had a great seafood platter and bottle of bubbly. Efficient service, big tv's if you like to watch sport. The music is a bit eclectic though.

After seeing all the advertised Specials daily on their Facebook page we had to come in & check it out for ourselves.The place is HUGE with a mixture of long tables, large booths & small bar tables with comfy booth bench seats. Would suit very large parties as well as couples. I would imagine this place would get packed at night.Lunch time was very quiet & we sat out on the enclosed balcony & enjoyed the harbour view. Chilli Mussel Special today was great! Good Size serve & perfect amount of chilli.Hubby had the Full Rack BBQ Pork Ribs & it was huge! He asked for a knife and the waitress gave us a bit of a strange look - we soon found out why when we touched it with the fork & it melted off the bone. Fantastically cooked & lovely sweet BBQ sauce which wasn't too overpowering. I don't eat pork myself but hubby made me try it & I'm glad I did!Definitely recommend based on food quality/ price & location. Can't comment on what the busy periods would be like but it's great that it's open all day for a feed when many places in Hillarys aren't.
