With how delicious they are, it's hard to believe there are only three Skipper's restaurants left in our state. One in the Seattle area, one in the Tri-Cities, and ours here in Spoke-a-loo. Their fish filets are perfectly cooked, and not greasy at all. Their chowder is consistently good, and prices are very fair in these inflationary times. It looked like the owners were covering the FOH, and they were sure working their tails off to make sure everyone was taken care of. I'm not big into fast-food, but I consider Skipper's to be a more quality product than any average burger joint. I hope they have staying power, and judging by their lunch crowd on a weekday, things are looking good for them...
The fish was not cooked completely and was mushy and wet inside. The shrimp and clams were also not fully cooked. I have eaten at Skippers many times in other cities and the food was always great. The food here was terrible. We will never go back to this place.
This is a normal Skippers Seafood and Chowder House, but the helpful personnel and great preparation of the food makes a real difference. She had the grilled halibut dinner and I had the fried halibut fish and chips. Both items were spectacular as was the service provided by the friendly gentleman behind the counter. Don't pass this place by if you are looking for a good seafood dinner.
