Mehran - Springfield

Great spot with a nice variety of Pakistani and Indian dishes. I really appreciate that they include desserts in their buffets. The prices are reasonable, and they serve freshly baked bread as well. My only concern was having to share the buffet with another party, but it wasn’t a huge issue. Overall, it was a pleasant experience.

One of the best Desi restaurants I've visited in the USA! They serve delicious Paay and Kashmiri tea. All their dishes are truly authentic in flavor, especially the BBQ and Chooly. The service is excellent, particularly from the young man at the checkout or takeaway desk, who I believe is from North Pakistan (possibly Hunza). He is the friendliest cashier you'll encounter. The restaurant itself is clean, and the ambiance is lovely. My only complaint would be about the washrooms, which could use some improvement.

I recently enjoyed a buffet dinner on a weekday, and I have to say the food was delightful. Although we arrived late, the manager candidly informed us that the food might not be as warm as it should be. Despite this, we decided to give it a try, and we were pleased with our choice. All the curries had an authentic flavor, and I particularly appreciated the chicken maize soup, which was perfect for a chilly evening. The chickpea curry was exceptional, and they provided fresh bread right at our table. There were also generous portions of 'paya' and 'haleem'. To top it all off, the manager surprised us with 'gajrela' (carrot rice pudding) as a special dessert from the kitchen, and it was absolutely wonderful! This restaurant is a fantastic spot for family outings any day of the week. I've noticed that many Desi restaurants offer weekday buffets, which is a great perk. Plus, the price is very reasonable.

It is criminal that this place is no longer business! I ate at Mehran when it was in DC, and the guy I worked with said I ate all over India, and that's the best Tandoori chicken I ever had, and I have to agree. The food has not changed to quality since the move to Springfield. Each piece of food is a top notch: It feels like a mix of homemade comfort and restaurant quality comfort, all at really affordable pirces (weekly buffet is just $10). This is my favorite Indian restaurant in the DMV area, and I recommend going to everyone here. You'll find something you like!

Having worked in restaurant a good portion of my life, I am obligated to say that I have thoroughly enjoyed coming to Mehran in Springfield. There are several choices in Springfield but my family, especially children love this place. First, food is great, excellent choices in the Buffet. Secondly, service with a smile which you rarely see at “Desi” restaurants. If you are in the area, you must visit this place.
