Honest Review: Sakai Sushi Bar HIDDEN GEM in SPG!Inside Coming into Sakai sushi, it’s a very elegant place, clean design and beautiful aesthetics. Very surprising interior. You are greeted by the friendly staff. Is a small place but can seat easily 30 people. It’s always busy here! Rightfully so… it’s a hidden gem in spruce grove.The food is FRESH! The flavors hit and it’s really authentic food. Authentic as in they do it right in their own way. The Sakai way. The flavors are very pleasant, it’s actually makes and impact and memorable. Good food impressive not by what you show, presentation but taste and they really do put a lot of care into their food. It still looks good as well!I can during lunch and it’s really recommended to call ahead book or even give the staff a heads about the size of your party. BOOK AHEAD! The staff size is small but they get things done.15 20 min wait if it busy. Food takes about 10 15 mins fresh and hot and one tip GET THE SESAME SAUCE AND KOROKE!!! Aside from that, you won’t go wrong with the YASAI MAKI AS WELL!Thank you Patrick and to staff at Sakai for being incredible and I hope to be back again soon. VISIT THIS PLACE!!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

I ate there for lunch today, trying out the recommended Yuku Lager, which complimented the always excellent if you haven't tried) Chirasho Bowl with the Beef Tataki.My usual goto is the Volcano Roll, Tuna Sashimi, Beef Yakinku when dining in) and Godzilla Cone. I have tried most of the menu and the only complaint is that I never order enough.My secret is to call ahead, and you can get an idea how busy it is when dining in, make a reservation, and how long the wait, if your going to do take out. Always a great experience and pleasure visiting the small family run restaurant that is popular in Spruce Grove.Want to note that the previous review from Mark B just means that he had unreal expectations of just showing up before close, that he can slander a great resturant because he is an idiot.

I had the Tonkatsu bento lunch box. Food was tasty and fresh, and beautiful presentation. Service was fast and friendly. Prices reasonable. Clean and bright restaurant. We will be back .

This review would have been a 5 star if it wasn't for the bad attitude of the woman that works there. The food is FABULOUS however, the blonde lady that waitresses is very snappy and super rude. I was trying to sympathize with her thinking maybe it was just a bad day, but the next time we went she was the exact same. The sushi however is soooo good, I'll continue to support regardless of the snappy waitress.
