Voyeur - Subiaco

Went to Voyeur on the weekend with the girls to have a few cocktails, the staff are amazingly friendly and patiently helped us all pick out a cocktail each. Music wasn't overly loud like other places and there was plenty of spots to sit to have a break from dancing

Voyeur bar reckons its got it all, but in reality it's all a bit flat. We arrived early and we're able to sit in a booth during the day, later in to the evening we were asked to leave he booth as it had been booked out and they were due to arrive in fifteen minutes. Not a problem but oddly the guests never materialised and the whole area was empty, almost a third of venue! Bizarre. We had a lot of fun and the first DJ was really quite good, playing a mixture of R&B, Hip-hop and party tunes. He read the room well and everyone was having a great time. But the follow up DJ, was appalling. She didn't handle the changeover between them well and was often in his way whilst setting up as she took over they had no switch so he music abruptly cut out whilst they fumbled to set it up again. The change in music taste was apparent and the crowd grew uninterested, things sadly didn't improve later in to the night. Earlier on in the evening when we arrived they had four beers on tap, all at reasonable prices by 10pm they were down to just one tap with anything on. Pretty poor for a venue I would say.The dancers were actually really awesome, they were skilled and performed well but it didn't really fit in to the feel of the evening, beautiful complex acrobatic dancing which was completely paradoxical to a classic Tupac song. The decor is similar to that of gentleman's club, and I guess that the voyeur theme. Slightly seedy albeit trying to be a bit gangster. It attracts a good crowd, tons of blokes in the beginning, then a lot of eighteen year old girls and then levels out towards the end. I had fun, but wouldn't say it's the best venue in town. It's good for its cheap thrills and I guess it's a bit unique. I probably wouldn't choose to come back but if it was suggested I would say it's alright.

The best bar in Subiaco! The manager is really nice and friendly, making it easy to book the venue for a party. Super helpful!
