Sea Shell Restaurant - Summerville

Nothing too bad to say, nothing good either. The food was very so-so, as was the menu and service. I will probably never go back.

I can't believe how long it takes for you to get your meal!!! They cook one thing a a time, never bring drinks to your table and make you feel like you're putting them out by asking.On the up side the food is fantastic!! That's why I keep going back

We were told by locals to check this place out if we were okay with seafood that has been battered and fried. We thought we'd give it a try. It is definitely greasy, but it was tasty. The serving size was pretty disappointing, though. We ordered a platter to share and it wasn't nearly enough for two. The price was too high for what we got. The service was pretty subpar. The server was very busy, and it caused her to act rather hostile and abrupt. The cook made each order one at a time, so we waited for over an hour for our food. The place is pretty worn out and definitely "no frills". If you go at the right time and are prepared for greasy fried food, it would probably be an okay experience, but we wouldn't go back.

Waitress drops our menus in front of us, rude the entire time, and once we order (the seafood chowder was not available) she never comes back to ask if we want water or coffee or anything. We wait for 45 minutes before checking to see how things were going - they hadn't even started cooking our food, but had already served another group that had come in after us. They said "You didn't tell us you had a time limit" or something to that effect. The restaurant only had 3 tables occupied! And they told us the grilled cheese would take the longest... Didn't bother waiting to find out if the food was any good because we were in fact in a rush by that point. The bakery down the road was a blessing.

Walked in and no one waited on us, so we sat at the nearest table that was half clean. Still no one waited on us, another customer on her way out gave us menus. A waitress finally came out and started to clear off all of the empty tables but still did not acknowledge us!!!!!! Finally she asked if we wanted some drinks and we said that we would also like to order (she did not clear off the dirty side of our table) She finally came back and took our order, I ordered the whole clams and my husband ordered clam strips. The strips were from a frozen box and my clams were not that great, the fries were down so badly, that they were all dried out. Horrible meal, wish we had tried somewhere else, but their sign stated that is was recommended by Trip Advisor
