It was great to see this pub finally open again. After walking the Acomb/Knapton/Rufforth route with my friend, we decided it would be a good place to stop for a chilled glass of wine while giving our legs a rest before doing the return journey. I'm so glad we did. Everyone was so friendly, including the young couple who manage it, that we stayed for a second glass. At less than £14 for two large glasses of rosè the prices are very reasonable too. All it needs now is to start serving food. I think we'll be walking here more often
Nice to see this village local open again after a long closure with enthusiastic young couple behind the bar. Sam Smith's Old Brewery no longer on tap but new brews 4X and Dark Mild at 3.4 percent handy for drivers. Beer garden under old fruit trees in dappled shade handy for heatwaves.
Magnificent Sam's Smith pub that has thankfully reopened after a long closure. Run by a fantastic young couple from the village. No phones and no TVs as per Sam Smith's rules means lots of easy chat with the locals. A truly brilliant asset for the village. Children not allowed in pubs again as per eccentric Sam Smith rules but welcome in the massive beer garden. Service: 5
It's only just reopened but it needs a good clean throughout brightening up outside seating area is fine but again not finished outside
