Mine was delicious, served with sliced pear, brazil nuts, and goat cheese on bread. Everyone enjoyed their meals as well, which all looked appetizing. We ended our meal with a slice of cake. The staff were friendly and attentive, providing good service. We plan on returning. I noticed that many people were turned away, so I recommend making a reservation. The ladies' restroom also serves as the disabled restroom, which was a bit inconvenient, but understandable given the size of the building.
This was my first time visiting this restaurant in York after living here for a long time! I usually don't explore Micklegate, but it was definitely worth the walk. We were seated downstairs because of a large booking, so we had limited time, but the food and service were both quick. It was one of the best brunches we've had in York; there are so many independent restaurants, and this is definitely one of the better ones! I recommend making a reservation if you want to guarantee a seat, or you can also get takeaway cakes and drinks.
Freezy cold day so we were looking for a cafe where we could warm up and eat a tasty lunch We were put in the marquee and although it had heaters and heated lamps I didn't warm up even though I kept my coat on. Not good. Ordered a hot chocolate and latte to start, the hot chocolate was lukewarm. Not good. Ordered bacon, scallops in a bun with home fries, and sourdough with chorizo, caramelised onions and fried eggs. The latter was excellent, very tasty and good portion but the former was poor. Had to deconstruct it in order to taste the 3 scallops. The overall combination didn't work and the home fries were luke warm. Overall disappointed with my experience
Fully booked inside but was seated in a heated marquee at the back, absolutely lovely coffee, Eggs Benedict and Persian Eggs, perfect spot for breakfast! Service was very welcoming and friendly!
Absolutely divine. Contacted Partisan via Instagram having been tempted by one of their current specials. They were so kind in pre comms, and I subsequently booked a table and travelled over from Leeds, and what a treat. I opted for the special brunch dish of slow roasted glazed beef short rib, haxby sourdough, chimichurri and watercress, and my word was it tasty. The flavours were amazing. The staff were very personable. I've visited previously and always enjoy the dishes, and today was well up there as one of the best brunches I've had. Thumbs up to the chef!
