The Horn v Pacquiao fight was the main attraction so I expected to have to get in early for a seat. Seating wasn't an issue, actually. The main bar area is essentially a hall. Prior to the fight, atmosphere was zero. Looking around then room, I couldn't find a beer with any life on anyone's table. I'd say either the lines are dirty or the glasses are. When coughing up over $5 for a mid strength in a club, I sort of expect a bit better. They had the big screen on and 3 tellys along side it with the fight on. The big screen was totally washed out, couldn't watch anything on it. Somehow, all of the screens were running at a different speed. As in one was slower than the other, then slower than the other. It was extremely distracting. The sound also kept dropping out. When it didn't drop out, it was nowhere near loud enough. I know it's a club but the young bar staff member saying "yep?" when asking for my order was a little rough. The rest of the ladies (all bar staff were women) were quite lovely. I'm really not sure how I feel about this place. It has a empty hall feel about it that probably needs addressing but it was quite full for the fight and a busy club is a good club. Needs to do some work in a competitive area.
Went early in the week for dinner with family and friends. $10.00 daily specials are OK for the money paid. We were there early and the vegetables were overcooked - probably yesterday's reheated - peas had no taste and were colourless. The salads were also a bit tired and soggy. If you have young kids, there is an enclosed outdoor play area. Friendly service and club priced drinks - remember you only get what you pay for so choose wisely.
Beautiful meals beautiful choices but need to change the menus occasionally. We are locals but choose to dine at other Restaurants because you get sick of the same old menu year after year.
What a lovely clean, neat, friendly well run club. The bowling greens looked well maintained too.The week night specials were good value. The 2 ladies working in the kitchen were very busy but we're not fazed and we're still happy and friendly.Would it be possible to have a bit better quality paper napkin per person in the cutlery box on each table to save waste as most people had to take a lot of the dispenser napkins.
Stopped in here for lunch and had a great feed. Standard bowls club meal. Big servings, great value, nothing fancy. Typical club atmosphere with multiple TV screens on every wall and the whirl of pokies coming from the corner.
