Chic-a-dee Cafe - Topeka

We chose this diner because it had good reviews, but our experience was not that great. Although the wait staff was friendly, they were inattentive. The food was good, but the table was dirty, and the inside was rather shabby — more like a dive bar than a diner. The worst part of the whole experience was that the interior of the restaurant smelled like corn syrup and urine, and the scent clung to our clothing after we left. We would not recommend eating here.

A really good mom&pop operation. Great food, prices are super good. A must try when in the area. You won't be disappointed with the food.

Went by today (Sunday 3 27 22) and they weren’t open. Afraid they have closed for good. Being open only on Sat Sun would make it difficult to sustain inventory and motivation so I’m not surprised just a bit saddened. Giving them 5 stars for the food and atmosphere while they were open.

It was OK. Nothing special. Kind of felt like we were in the way. The waitress is nice but no overly excited about being there. The food was bland but you have to consider who normally comes in there.

Having just recently moved to Topeka, we are still finding the niches. This place was excellent. Food was delicious and service was top notch. We have found our favorite place for breakfast.
