The best way to enjoy one of these classes is to bring along a group of friends. They allow you to bring your own beverages, and it was honestly the most fun I've had with a group of strangers in quite a while. I learned a lot and will definitely be returning for more classes. They even offer in-home cooking services, so once I have my smoker, I plan to give that a try. If you're interested in learning about BBQ and grilling, or much more, I highly recommend checking them out. What a blast! Great job, everyone!!!
Throughout the course, there were racist, sexist, and disrespectful comments and jokes that tainted the experience and made it difficult to focus on the instructions we did receive. The only positive aspect of the class was Robert, the griller, who was professional and truly seemed to enjoy what he was doing. If he had been the instructor, it would have made a world of difference.
I participated in a 6-hour smoking and grilling class, and it turned out to be a great outing with friends. I picked up some useful grilling tips and enjoyed exploring various types of grills. The instructor, Derrek, was extremely knowledgeable and engaging, effectively leading the class. However, the grill technician was unprofessional—he basically slept through most of the session, leaving Derrek (and sometimes the attendees) to fill in the gaps. It was clear that Derrek was frustrated, and I can't say I blame him. I gave the experience a rating of 3 stars due to the grill tech's lack of support, which I found disappointing and embarrassing for the company.
Have taken the 101 and 201 classes. Both were excellent. Taking Pizza class next. Very informative and so much delicious food.
Pretty weak class even if u think u r getting a deal with Groupon. I hope Stu gets help. He is a full on alcoholic and killed almost a handle of whiskey on our Sunday 6 hr class with him. I don't judge him for that but the sexist, racist and drunken ramblings about his ex wives, partners in th Philippines, food network celebrities, and much more was just too much and seemed to make most of the class uncomfortable despite the uneasy laughter.. His constant selling of grills, upgrades, parts and accessories is understandable but not what you are looking for in a cooking class Some good tips on BBQ but not enough to make the time and money worth it. I wish I had those 6 hours back to do just about anything else.
