We have come here year after year for apres ski. Every year it is the same. Amazing house margaritas for a good apres ski deal, amazing taco apres ski special, amazing cheesy chorizo, amazing chips, amazing salsa, very slow service. We come here knowing that they only have one bartender, one food runner, and two servers for the entire restaurant (including the outside) every time we are here. We feel so bad for the servers every time because we can see how busy they are. We have to order things well in advance of when we need them because we know it will take forever to get. Sometimes we see our margaritas sitting on the bar for 10-15 minutes at a time, before they get delivered to us. It's a shame because we love to come here but we set our expectation low and have patience. For example this last time, as soon as we sat down, we ordered the cheesy chorizo with some flour tortillas to dip in it. About 30 minutes later the cheesy chorizo came and we asked the food runner for the tortillas. The cheesy chorizo was almost gone and almost hardened at the point where our server stopped by again and we had to remind him about the flour tortillas. Then the food runner comes to clear our plates and we ask for the tortillas again, and another cheesy chorizo order to actually be able to dip them in this time. Finally the flour tortillas come with the second order. We eat a few of them and had them off to the side on the corner AWAY from the aisle and towards to window, and the food runner reached over to the back and took the basket away to clear them and she ran away so fast we couldn't stop her to say we weren't done. The tortillas did not come in a foil, just paper, so we wrapped the paper around them to keep warm and I guess they thought we were done? So there go the tortillas we waited about an hour for... sigh... Overall, we love the margaritas because they are very lime-y and we like the thin an salty chips to dip in the roasted salsa and cheesy chorizo. The tacos are yummy but you get 2 in the apres ski order so its a little pricey for what you get. When you come here just come with patience and enjoy the river views.
I visited El Sabor for a work meeting. I didn't eat any of the food but the Margaritas were exceptional! I definitely will go back soon for an actual meal. Great location and friendly, engaged staff.
Great views, not super expensive for vail, and just excellent American Mexican food
Have zero idea why this has 4 stars. I went at a busy time and I understand that but if y’all are that understaffed on a SATURDAY NIGHT, don’t even bother opening your doors. Rude staff as well, not a fan and idc what the food tastes like cause I haven’t even eaten yet. Bye
