First Ethiopian experience, not really a big fan of the injera, very sour. I bet it’s pretty authentic as I’m not used to the taste at all. The cubed lamb was too salty, I couldn’t really find the balance in between. It’s understaffed as the previous comments mentioned, but the lady whose serving was great, showed me how to wrap the food by hand even fed me? I found it weird at the beginning but get used to it at the end.The deco wise very Ethiopian style, bright waking colour and love it Worth trying at least you’ll find out if you like it.
Great hidden spot to try some Ethiopian cuisine. There was only one waitress for the whole restaurant when we went for dinner, rather odd. But she did a great job checking on everyone. We tried to share platter with a mix of vegetarian and meat options. Always have to have an open mind when trying new foods. Im happy to say we really enjoyed the food, eating with our hands, the drinks and atmosphere.Vegetarian options: There are plenty of vegetarian dishes including variety platter.
The staff and atmosphere ruined this for us. Service wise we never got a water refill, were only checked on once in the couple of hours we were there, could not order more drinks because the person never came by, etc. The place was also a sea of fruit flies. After removing the third fly from my wine I just downed it the rest of it to avoid the distraction. The prices are out of this world for the simplicity of the food, but the food was excellent.
I ordered lamb ribs and When I got my order there was hair on the injara. I totally fine, I removed the hair and started to eat. I had no problem with the hair because I know things like this happen and I never complain or get discussed by it. However when I tried the lamb tibs, it was horrible, it was basically fat, oil, tomato and onion. I couldn’t it at all. I called the restaurant to let them know about my experience. The lady on the phone was nice and offered me to order again for double amount or the food or wait for the manager. I was really hungry, I haven’t eaten all day so I choose the first option since I just want to eat. She for my name and my number and said I will receive 2 order. When I got my order it’s ONLY one and it was a bit better but not good at all. Each order was 29.15 dollars so I basically paid 60 bucks for nothing. I called the restaurant 4 times after that and they are not picking up. I am habesha and I love to support my people but this was a bad experience and if you don’t change you will lose one customer at a time.I called the restaurant again 2 days later to let them know about my experience. This time the owner wife picked up and she right away was very disrespectful. She didn’t want to listen and told me her food was good all the time. She told me to bring the food back and she would give me my money back, otherwise she is not doing anything about it. She then hang up the phone on me. I called again and told her that she was disrespectful and shouldn’t speak to customers like this she hang up the phone on me again. This was a horrible experience and I don’t recommend this restaurant at all.
