Sunday birthday lunch for four of us - my first visit and I was bowled over. As well as wonderful flavours and combinations, the staff are a delight. The highlight was possibly the waiter making the hummus at the table with a huge mortar and pestle. And a surprise piece of birthday cake with candle for the birthday girl topped it off! Can't wait to go back.
This was my second visit to this restaurant. On both occasions it has been for breakfast. We were a party of 5 and I booked in advance for 10.30 am on a Sunday morning. When we arrived we were the first and were immediatley offered a drink. Great service. The only unfortunate part was, we were advised that our table had been booked for another party at 11.30 and we would need to finish up. Lucky for us we had finished our meals however, I was there with friends and we were enjoying a social morning.
The waiter said the menu was Mediterranean but I have traveled around most Mediterranean countries but never had food like this. Every dish seemed over cooked and far too much Labne, ending up pretty bland and tasteless. Thank goodness for the service - the only saving grace here.
A warm welcome, followed with exceptional service and delicious food. Nothing was too much trouble.We ate the eggplant dip which was served with warm just cooked bread, the potato and rosemary pizza and the radicchio salad paired with an exceptional Spanish wine which was recommended.Nothing could be faulted.
