Even though this place didn't have outdoor seating, we had heard great things about it and decided to give it a try. We ordered dumplings, kebabs, and a recommended noodle dish, and the food was absolutely delicious. Despite getting takeout, the owner went above and beyond by allowing us to borrow chairs and a table to dine outside. He even provided us with black containers to use as bowls and gave each of us a water bottle to stay hydrated in the hot weather. We are so grateful for the kindness and compassion shown to us by Bogda Restaurant. Their food is amazing and we highly recommend it to anyone visiting Waterloo. Thank you so much for a wonderful experience!
The hospitality at this restaurant is amazing, as is the food. My friend and I arrived 20 minutes before closing, but dine-in service was closed. Despite being hungry, we decided to eat outside. The boss heard us and, after checking with us, opened a table for us. Since there were no glasses available, he gave us a couple of cokes instead. In addition, he gave us extra portions because we were so hungry. The food itself was hearty and delicious, especially the fall-off-the-bone chicken. This restaurant is a must-visit if you are looking for a hearty and satisfying meal.
The food was amazing. The handmade noodles, delicious lamb/beef dishes, and both salads we ordered (cucumber salad and "Uyghur salad") were fantastic. The owner was friendly and I was happy to chat with her after our meal. I can't wait to try more dishes from the menu.
The restaurant is very pleasant, modern and clean. We came for dinner, were seated immediately and presented with water and the menu. Unlike in other reviews, the service was spotty, with the server disappearing in the kitchen for extended periods. Also, the server did not seem interested at all in helping us chose dishes, although we were clearly out of our depth in perusing the menu. We settled on dishes that either looked interesting or had been recommended by other patrons before. As the restaurant filled up, dishes came out in very irregular intervals, probably as the cook was able to get them done, but it made for a somewhat disjointed eating experience. For example, the naan came about 10 minutes after the meat dish, although the two needed to be eaten together. We observed the same thing happening at another table, so maybe it's the way it's supposed to be. The quality of the food was excellent, the dishes savoury without being hot. We'll be back, but hope that we'll be given a bit more guidance in exploring this unusual and tasty cuisine. Certainly worth a try!
We had some lovely dishes obviously made with love. We are new to Uyghur cuisine, but we had the lamb and potato dish and something else over noodles. It was filling, perfectly cooked and nicely spiced. Not too expensive, and interesting to try.
