My daughter and I stopped in here late last week. We were starving and the other cafe in town had already closed (this was after 3:00 pm). The ladies at the thrift store directed us here and said the food was excellent. We walked in the door and I have to say, I was pretty skeptical. As noted in other reviews the place was very cluttered and had obviously been getting that way for many years, and it smelled kind of musty. But we are adventurous, so we ordered hamburgers and fries and a milkshake. The hamburgers were very good with very fresh toppings, and! the buns were toasted on the grill, yay! Fries were perfectly done crispy as requested. Milkshake could have been a little thicker but was still good. I was a bit disappointed when the cook plopped down a bottle of Walmart's Great Value ketchup on the table because I am a Heinz snob, but I tried it anyway and will be picking up a few bottles for the pantry next time I'm near Walmart. I definitely recommend giving this old, wonderful, small town cafe a try! It was very quiet when we were there but that was between lunch and dinner so I can't say what the noise level is like at other times. I'd love to try the place for breakfast!
Kopeys is cluttered and dark. The food tastes decent but the kitchen looks dirty. If you can get past that, they have great prices and large portion sizes.
Outstanding hamburgers, fresh homemade french bread buns, fresh lean hamburger with fresh lettuce, tomatoes and the pickles are crispy, with fries that are crispy on the outside and soft on the inside.
Very friendly small town vibe. Extremely affordable. Small menu for breakfast of omelets and traditional options.
