Popped in on off chance with pooch. Very friendly staff and locals. Live music and great beer selection. Defo Local if lived in York.
The staff is friendly and there is a great variety of beers and spirits. It's a perfect spot for an afternoon drink if you are in the area.
Before starting an eight days holiday in Prague my twin brother Stephen and I decided to have a weeks holiday in York taking in all the great sites to be found in this city and visit all the great pubs that York is justifiably famous for. This is such a great looking pub ,the interior is superb, the main room is dominated by an island style serving bar, pubby decor and furnishings ,tv 's and big screens to enjoy the sport and plenty of seating options spread throughout this pub ,it 's just a really good pub to unwind in. We were here on a cold and rainy Thursday night ,pub was busy with a great atmosphere ,a quick study of their real ale 's and my twin brother Stephen and I both opted to have Timothy Taylor 's Brewery landlord ,these were served in excellent condition,we just kicked back and took in the great pub we were in. My pale ale was really good ,a golden ale, crisp, well balanced ,hoppy with a great aroma and aftertaste ,so easy to drink ,a classic British pale ale served in a classic British pub. We both really enjoyed our pale ale 's in here before we moved on and as on every other visit to The Slip Inn we had a great time. The Slip Inn is easy to locate along Clementhorpe . Opening hours are; Monday to Thursday,2pm till 11pm. Friday Saturday, midday till midnight. Sunday, midday till 10.30pm. A great pub, well worth seeking out if you 're in the area.
During our six-day city break in York, we had the pleasure of visiting The Slip Inn on Clementhorpe. After enjoying a pint at the Swan, we stopped by this charming pub for some cask ales. The pub boasts a recently renovated interior with interesting fixtures and a lovely outdoor terrace where the toilets are located. It supports traditional pub games like dominoes, darts, and cribbage. During our visit, the pub was bustling with activity as people were enjoying a game of dominoes while watching the African nation semi-finals. We sampled the Landlord ale from Timothy Taylor's brewery, which was served in impeccable condition and at a reasonable price. The pub is conveniently located near the Bishopthorpe Road shops bus stop, making it easily accessible. This was our first visit to The Slip Inn, and we were thoroughly impressed with its atmosphere and offerings. The opening hours vary throughout the week, and the nearest bus stop is Bishopthorpe Road.
