It was very good, even by my own strict fish and chips upbringing, the 'chips '..okay French fries were good, and better than most places and the fish? Delectable, steamy and soft fish that melted in the mouth. What surprised me the most was the homemade tartar sauce, now I personally hate this sauce but what this restaurant did was different, they created their own version which was actually very good with hints of garlic, naturally the entire meal washed down with a pint of Guinness.
Our dining experience was absolutely fine except we were sitted next to loud and big companies while there were other quiet tables available. I understand that this was done for the restaurant efficiency but not very client oriented
This was a cute pub that we passed by after Fat Cactus one evening and decided to go in. There were not that many people since it was just 8pm so we got our drinks and settled in the outdoor heated and covered patio! The bartender was very attentive and sweet and the outdoor area was very spacious for multiple groups of people. There was even giant jenga on one of the tables so we all got involved and were playing while drinking! I just wish there was better music or something more lively, but maybe it was the time of day that we went
Loved this spot! Phil the Bartender gets my vote for the coolest guy I met while in NJ. The vibe? You could tell everyone knows each other and the love is strong. Try the Shepherds Pie! Oh my freaking goodness!Food: 5/5
Nice heated patio. Okay food and drinks. Beer selection is rather meh for all those taps compared to the former owners.
