The restaurant is simple and can accommodate up to 50 people. On the day we visited, it was crowded with our group of 16 people, another group of around 12 Iranians, and other diners. The menu offered various salads and a hearty soup with lentils, chickpeas, rice, and beans. Personally, I didn't enjoy the soup and left half of it. For the main course, I had a delicious steak with rice, chips, peppers, and stir-fried vegetables. The highlight of the meal was the dessert, which was one of the best we have ever had, featuring two tomatoes. The restaurant had a couple of hookahs for those who wanted to smoke, giving it an oriental atmosphere. Our guide informed us that this was a typical restaurant for groups, especially Spanish ones, and we were very pleased with our dining experience. I would highly recommend this restaurant.
After visiting the 3 madrasas located in the famous Registan Square, we went to eat at the Registon restaurant, which is located right across the square. It is a simple restaurant for no more than 50 diners, which on that particular day was full of people, our group of 16 people, another group of Iranians of about 12 people, and the rest of the tables were occupied. The menu was very similar to what we had already eaten the day before in Tashkent and to the menus we would eat for the rest of the trip. As a starter, we had several salads with carrots, green peppers, etc... and as a first course, a soup that had everything from lentils, chickpeas, rice, beans, cottage cheese... I personally didn't like it at all and didn't finish half of the soup. The main course was always my favorite, and this time we were served a breaded steak, accompanied by a ball of rice, French fries, and sautéed peppers and vegetables, which was honestly delicious. Finally, for dessert, we were served one of the best desserts we tried, which were 2 pancakes with caramel syrup and accompanied by apple slices, all very delicious. The restaurant was very well decorated and furnished, with typical Uzbekistan decorations, a couple of tables set up in a kind of atrium with carpets and cushions to sit on the floor. On these tables, there were a couple of hookahs for smoking and giving it an even more oriental atmosphere. Our guide told us that this was one of the most typical restaurants for groups and especially for Spaniards, so since we had such a good meal, we were delighted and would recommend this restaurant without any hesitation.
