I have visited many Indian restaurants, but I have often been disappointed by the lack of variety in their dishes. They are either overly spicy or bland, and often drenched in oil and artificial coloring. However, I was pleasantly surprised by this particular restaurant. Despite its unassuming appearance, the food was well-seasoned, made with high quality meat, and overall excellent. I was very impressed and will definitely return. Although I have had some average experiences in the past, my most recent visit was once again excellent. Every restaurant has its off days, but for the price, this place offers the best value for takeout in York. While Mirchiz on Fishergate may offer slightly higher quality dining, it is also more expensive. For a local Indian restaurant, this place surpasses its competition.
