The Blacksmiths Arms - York

We stayed in a cottage next to the Blacksmiths Arms and it was very comfortable, perfect for couples. We had a small dog with us and were very pleased with our stay. We would happily come here again for a quiet getaway. I highly recommend it. Rooms: 5 Service: 5 Location: 5

Sally was fantastic, despite the short-staffed situation. She saved the day for us even though we couldn't get food. You definitely don't want to lose her! Service: 4 Location: 4

The food at this restaurant was absolutely terrible. The chips were burnt and not fresh, and the fried eggs were also burnt. A young boy served the food alongside the chef, which raises questions about who is actually cooking in the kitchen. When my husband complained, the child brought more burnt chips without resolving the issue. I was unable to eat my meal, and my husband and son left most of theirs as well. It was a disappointing experience and we will not be returning. Additionally, I question the legality of having a child work in the restaurant. The service was rated a 1, and the location a 2.

We stay at the local campsite and always look forward to our visit to the Blacksmiths Arms , great staff ,great food , and San Miguel on draught, what's not to love and our dog Bonnie loves the welcome too. Service: 5 Location: 5
